Reading Ahead: March 2017, part 2

*Insert clever intro here!*

Vicious Circle, by C.J. Box. The Cates family had always been a bad lot. Game warden Joe Pickett had been able to strike a fierce blow against them when the life of his daughter April had been endangered, but he’d always wondered if there’d be a day of reckoning. He’s not wondering any longer. Joe knows they’re coming after him and his family now. He has his friend Nate by his side, but will that be enough this time? All he can do is prepare...and wait for them to make the first move.
Also available in Large Print.

Never Let You Go, by Chevy Stevens. Stevens writes gripping suspense novels, and I've been hooked since reading her debut, Still Missing, back in 2010. In her new novel, readers meet Lindsey Nash, who took her daughter and escaped from an abusive relationship eleven years ago. Her ex-husband, Andrew, was sent to jail and Lindsey started over with a new life. Now, Lindsey is older and wiser, with her own business and a teenage daughter who needs her more than ever. When Andrew is finally released from prison, Lindsey believes she has cut all ties and left the past behind her. But she gets the sense that someone is watching her, tracking her every move. Her new boyfriend is threatened. Her home is invaded, and her daughter is shadowed. Lindsey is convinced it’s her ex-husband, even though he claims he’s a different person. But has he really changed? Is the one who wants her dead closer to home than she thought?

Wait For Dark, by Kay Hooper. Hooper's Bishop/Special Crimes Unit series (last seen in 2015's Fear the Dark) follows an SCU team as they investigate a string of accidents, only to discover that the incidents are anything but accidental. A monster is on the hunt in Clarity, North Carolina, and only Hollis and her team can help the sheriff before the murderer can strike again. Hooper's series has really been picking up steam in recent installments.
